Ever notice that the more you worry about your weight the more you gain. (Cortisol ~ public enemy no. 1)
The more you worry about your health the more stomach problems you have and you get sick easier.
The more you worry about your job the harder it is to do it.
The more you worry about your kids you focus more on their negative traits rather than enhancing and developing their positive ones.
And the more time you take to worry about your future the quicker you wonder how fast the time you spent with your kids and family flew by and how many of the things you wanted to spend time doing with them never materialized.
- The Bible says worrying will not add a hair to your head or a day to your life. (PP mine)
- And don't worry about tomorrow for tomorrow has enough worries of its own. (PP mine)
- Worrying never changes anything, it actually zaps the energy we would have had to make real changes in our lives.
- The best change we can make is to stop worrying.
I really think that we need to stop over thinking our lives and just get on with living them. We need to embrace the moment and look for the good we have right now. We need to stop worrying that soon our glass could be have empty and just rejoice that it is half full right now. Tomorrow is not guaranteed for any of us but we spend so much of our "now" energy and peace of mind worrying about it, instead of just enjoying our life. I am not saying we should just live foolishly but I am saying we need to do our best at the daily tasks needed to maintain our lives and let that be enough, then enjoy today and let tomorrow take care of itself. Then we have the peace and freedom to love this very moment and not miss living it "right now."
How much of our lives do we lose worrying about a tomorrow that no matter how we plan or prepare for, we can control actually very little of. One wrong turn of the wheel, ours or someone elses can change everything, or not, we stress about things that may never happen in fact most of them don't, so... plan for tomorrow, sure, but waste time worrying about it, no way! LOVE the moments you are living in right now and don't waste even a one of them. Life itself is simply too precious to spend not living it.
